So, we’ve said why we love our tear-jerkers :). Here’s our list of some of our favorites in this category, but this list comes with a warning! You must have a box of tissues with you at all times and possibly a buddy read to get through this books.
How To Kill A Rock Star by Tiffanie DeBartolo
We say this book is a MUST READ everyone! Yes.. you should read it, love it, cry over it and then possibly reread it. Tiffanie DeBartolo accomplished with this book something beyond amazing. She created two main characters that are both great, strong, smart, passionate about the things that matter and people they love. The story is incredibly amazing, it is full of twists that will make you very mad or sad or happy. And you will experience every single feeling as if it were your own. You get to know the characters, love them and understand them. Do it. Go ahead, read it and love it as much as we did 🙂
Emi Lost & Found by Lori L. Otto
How do you describe something as amazing as this series with just words? There are none. Seriously. This book is a major tear-jerker for us. So much so that whenever we get into one of our Nate conversations we get a hole in our stomachs and our eyes get all blurry with tears. Every.Single.Time. How did Lori did that? It’s beyond amazing. Here you’ll meet two best friends Emi and Nate. There are romantic feelings between them. You can see it, even when they’re too afraid to admit it to themselves. The story has a major twist. It broke our hearts in tiny little pieces (and we’re still not over it). This is also a must read for us. There’s no way you won’t enjoy it. Yes, you have to give yourself time to get through this. But it is all so damn worth it.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
If I Stay is just… wow! This book presents a difficult situation for a girl. She must decide if she wants to stay or leave. She has a lot to lose if she decides to go but she has also lost so much already. When we first read this book, it was all so devastating, so sad. But it was also so full of hope, love, friendship. It teaches you that even in the most difficult situations, you have people around you that will stay with you. It teaches you that you can go on. This is not an easy book, but if you try to look at the beautiful things that are between the bad times, you’ll understand the beauty in it. It is perfectly written. Every emotion, situation. It describes perfectly how hard everything must be if someone was in a similar situation.
Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare
The third book of The Infernal Devices continues the story of Will, Tessa and Jem. And, from the start, we’ve had a love triangle. We got so attached to these three characters, because we knew them, how they thought and felt about each other. The sense of friendship, loyalty and love (oh the love) are beyond amazing. This book is by far the best one of the series, it has everything you may want, action, suspense and romance.. And the romantic part may break your heart. So, get your tissues out, because the tears will come out and they won’t stop.
God-Shaped Hole by Tiffanie DeBartolo
Apparently, miss Tiffanie DeBartolo likes the tear-jerkers. At least she likes to write them. God-Shaped Hole introduces you to a young woman and a young man who’ve found each other trough a newspaper ad. This is their love story, which is completely beautiful. You have a book full of love and trust. This includes a big twist. Huge heartbreak. But we can’t say much more so… Go and read it :)!
Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
This book is amazing. Seriously guys, if you haven’t read it, you totally should. This introduces you to Eleanor & Park. This is a refreshing story because these are just kids and they act like that. Of course, not everything is as pretty as it may seem. This shows a side of a world where the parents refuse to act like parents, so it’s all left to the kids. But it also shows you how much parents can love their kids. This book will make you feel a thousand things, from happy, to sad, to giddy, to silly, and so much more. This is beautiful. A total must read.
In The Fields by Willow Aster
OMG this book. Wow! This book is completely devastating and beautiful, all at the same time. This introduces you to a time where the skin color mattered to a great number of people, but not to Caroline. She’s in love with Isaiah. She loves him and cares about him more than anything else. He’s the one who’s been there for her, who calms her and makes her smile. And he loves her back. This book will break your heart with so many unfair acts. But there are also good people, people who bring joy to Caroline. People who became her family. A must read people!
Note: this list may increase with time :).
