So.. This one was kind of disappointing.

When I first read the description of Before I Fall, I thought it was interesting, it got my attention right away, but I didn’t start until a few days ago. The story is about Sam, a girl who has practically everything she wants (the popular boyfriend and the popular friends), until one day, she’s in a car accident and dies. Except she gets to relive that same day over and over again, until she has this big revelation about life.

It sounds interesting, right? Yeah, I thought so too.

So, when I started reading this book and started to get to know Sam… That’s when the problems began for me. I guess, for the story to have the big moment, that big revelation, the main character had to be a certain way, but I’ve never disliked a character more in my life. This girl is annoying, shallow and down right mean. I couldn’t stand her through 75% of the book. I actually thought about dropping the book, because I really, really didn’t like her and the way she acted, like she and her friends were better than everyone else. But I’ve been doing that a lot lately and thought better of it. I was hoping the story would get better. And it sort of did, but not enough for me to like the book. The only character I liked was Kent.

The story goes on and on and on… I thought it was too repetitive, it had too much of the characters being mean. Although I did see the changes in the main character, how she started to realize that she was wrong about so many things in her life, like how she treated her family, other people and even herself, but somehow, it wasn’t enough for me.
