Daniela’s review

Once again, R.S Grey managed to make me laugh and swoon like crazy. This was exactly what I wanted to read, since I’ve been in some kind of reading slump.

Lily, you predictable perv. I knew you’d open this email faster if I tempted you with a glimpse of JT’s “PP”. Well, put your pants back on and grab some bubbly because I have much better news to share.

I GOT A JOB!

As of tomorrow, I’ll be the new executive assistant at Lorena Lefray Designs. I am SO excited, but there’s one itty bitty problem: I won’t be Lorena’s assistant. I’ll be working for her older brother, Julian.

I know what you’re thinking- “But Jo, what’s the problem?”

Google him. Now. He’s the man in the fitted navy suit whose face reminds you that there’s hope yet for this cruel, ugly world. Keep scrolling…Do you see those dimples? Yup. That’s the Julian Lefray I will be reporting to tomorrow morning.

Lord, help us all…

XO,
Jo

I haven’t read that many books by R.S Grey, but the ones I have, I’ve enjoyed them from the first page to the last. She has this amazing humor and such a way to captivate and make me want to keep turning the pages. I swear. Every time I’m feeling kind of weird and I don’t know what to read, I’ve turned to one of her books and I always end up laughing and asking myself why I hadn’t given it a chance earlier. Her books always put me in a great mood.

In one word, The Allure of Julian Lefray is FUN!!!!!!! I swear, it made me laugh and smile through the whole thing. In this book we have the story of Josephine Keller, a small town girl who has bigger dreams than her entire town. Clothes and fashion have always been her passion and nothing and no one can put themselves between her and becoming a well-known fashion blogger, hopefully a blogger at Vogue. She’s left everything that she’s always known and started her new life in New York. Sadly, New York is stupidly expensive as are her student loans, so she must find a job… and soon. Julian Lefray is rich, sexy and funny. He’s incredibly good when it comes to investments so he must step in in his sister’s company when she must take a time of her own, just to make sure her company stays alive. But what does he know about fashion beyond the suits he owns?

One needs a job, and the other one needs an assistant. The perfect match.

Ok well, as I mentioned before, this book was just GREAT. I started reading it one day and somehow I finished it in practically one sitting. The book hooked me in from the very first page and I just couldn’t stop reading. From Jo’s awesome and sassy way of thinking and Julian’s dimples and smiles… I just wanted to read and read and see where everything was going to go. The pace of the story is great. It moves and develops itself perfectly, making it a fast and light read with incredible characters and relationships.

Josephine Keller is this wonderful character, driven by her passion about clothing and blogging. I can’t deny it felt incredibly familiar when Jo talked about her blog. I swear, mine has become such a huge part of my life, if felt like she was reading my mind when she described her passion about her blog, even though mine is clearly not about fashion haha. Anyway, I loved feeling that sense of familiarity, you know? Like, we were so similar to each other. I loved that. Also, there’s the awesome message about doing what you love and fighting for it. Jo certainly fought!

“Gone from Josephine to Cinderella. Except, while Cinderella had evil stepsisters and one fairy godmother, I had Martin and fifteen bitchy birds flitting around me.”

Then there’s Julian. Oh my dimples! Jeez. This guy is sexy and funny and attentive and considerate and just so freaking AMAZING. You can’t not fall in love with him instantly. He’s the definition of decent, even though he’s made some mistakes (but let’s face it, who haven’t?). I absolutely adored being inside his head and feeling his deep and passionate interest in Jo in every possible way. I just loved, loved, loved his sexy comments and his flirting and everything he did.

He didn’t even know the effect those dimples had on my girly parts. One word: Ijustgotpregnant. Yeah, that’s one word.

This was just such a wonderful read. It was light, fast and incredibly funny. I absolutely recommend it!
