Title: The Beau & The Belle
Author: R.S. Grey

Beau Fortier starred in most of my cringe-worthy teenage fantasies.
I met him when I was a junior in high school, a time that revolved exclusively around bad hair, failed forays into flirting, and scientific inquiries into which brand of toilet paper worked best for stuffing bras.
That is, until Beau moved into the small guest house just beyond my bedroom window.
A 24-year-old law student at Tulane, Beau was as mysterious to me as second base (both in baseball and in the bedroom). He was older. Intimidating. Hot. Boys my age had chicken legs and chubby cheeks. Beau had calloused hands and a jaw cut from steel. Our interactions were scarce—mostly involving slight stalking on my end—and yet deep down, I desperately hoped he saw me as more of a potential lover than a lovesick loser.
Turns out, I was fooling myself. My fragile ego learned that lesson the hard way.
Now, ten years later, we’re both back in New Orleans, and guess who suddenly can’t take his eyes off little ol’ me.
My old friend, Mr. Fortier.
But things have changed. I’m older now—poised and confident. My ego wears a bulletproof vest. The butterflies that once filled my stomach have all perished.
When I was a teenager, Beau warned me to guard my heart.
Let’s hope he knows how to guard his.
Ok ok Laura calm down, it’s just another R.S. Grey book. You don’t need to read it in two days, but I did AND I LOVED IT.
She did it again. Romance/Comedy on full blast. I really enjoyed how awkward Lauren was, and how beautifully mature was Beau.
Where do you get all the witty quips Rachel? I mean, damn I was hands down LOLing my way through this book.
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph Gordon-Levitt “
This book is divided in two parts, Past and Present. For me, the Past was the best part, I could feel how infatuated Lauren was with Beau, how unhealthy it was back then, but how it had all the potential to be something great.
Basically, Beau rents a room in Lauren’s house, he’s in college, she’s a junior in high school. And the rest you can imagine, it’s an impossible love.
So, they grow up and meet again and sparks fly. But it’s a very slow, funny dance. I don’t want to get into too much detail but I cannot stress enough how amusing this book is.
I’m really glad I had the opportunity to read this ARC. Keep em’ coming R.S!
Let me quote our dear Lauren,
“Jesus, Mary and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.“
I absolutely loved this. Like, I truly wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much and by that, I mean, I was sure I would enjoy it, it just took it to a whole new level. This is my new favorite book by R.S. Grey. I can’t possibly begin to describe how good it was.
R.S. Grey has always amazed me with her rom/com books. They’re always super funny and the romance is on point, but this time… man it was something completely different. The comedy was hilarious, the romantic moments were intense and swoon worthy. Let me start with this:
When we first meet Lauren, she’s in high school and has every girls’ problem: boys. They’re stupid, often dickheads, but we fall for them either way. That is, until the day a new law student guy rents her parents’ pool house or something like that. The thing is, the guy is NOTHING like those she’s known forever. He’s mature. He’s intense. He’s oh so dreamy. He’s sweet, but hard. What’s not to like in that?
Then we have Beau. He’s all focused on getting his law degree, but more than that, he’s focused on getting what belong to his family once. When he moves back to New Orleans he’s not expecting to meet this joyful and carefree girl. He’s definitely not expecting to react to her. But he’s 24, she’s barely 17? He can’t act on it. That would mean trouble. So he stays away… mostly.
It’s been 10 years since they last saw each other. Some things have changed for both of them, but some others, have stayed exactly the same.
I seriously can’t tell you how much I loved it. These two are just perfect for each other and everything between them fit just right in. I couldn’t read it continuously, because you know… life. But whenever I was reading, I just laughed and laughed, because the main girl just had the greatest personality ever. She was completely awkward and funny and it was exactly what I needed to read. The way this author writes her comedy… is just something that everyone should give a try, because you’re definitely in for something AWESOME.
Seriously, READ IT NOW!!!!!!
