Hopeless (Hopeless #1)
Ok, WOW! This book… This book did a number on me! Seriously.. wow!
I live this story. I live this story so much.
Hopeless introduces you to seventeen-year-old Sky, a girl who thought she had a pretty normal life, except for the lack of technology in her house, but overall.. It was pretty simple and normal. That was until she met Dean Holder. After that moment, everything in her life will change forever.
I loved Sky. She’s not the typical seventeen-year-old character. She’s strong, good and plain awesome. She doesn’t care what anybody thinks of her and what they may say about her. But there’s a numbness she feels, like a hole in her that won’t allow her to feel anything when she’s with a boy. She doesn’t feel happy, sad, excited or anything. She’s numb. Again, until she met Dean Holder.
“I live you, Sky,” he says against my lips. “I live you so much.”
Dean, oh Dean! This guy is sooo intense, but in a good way. Wow! It’s obvious he has a lot going on, but he’s amazing. You can see how attracted he is to Sky, how much she matters to him. He wants to keep her safe and love her and most of all make her feel. He wants to take that numbness away.
“The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you’ve never felt anything when someone’s kissed you, then no one’s ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you.”
Leave it to Colleen Hoover to write such a compelling story! She knows how to create characters that are relatable and so lovable. I’ve fallen in love with every single one of her characters, because she manages to make them real and perfectly imperfect.
