Men We Love: Will Herondale

From: The Infernal Devices by Cassandra ClareClare, C. - CWP

Title: Duck Hating Demon Slayer Book Boyfriend

Why we love him: Will Herondale, some may think he’s kind of a jerk or an asshole. We did too, but it didn’t last long. Once you know why he acts they way he does, you have to forgive him, and as soon as you give him a chance, you’ll fall in love with him. We did :). He’s the tormented guy. He has this huge secret that won’t let him get close to people. He is a dedicated and passionate and sometimes kind of reckless Shadow Hunter. He’s devoted to protect those he loves and he will do anything for them. That’s one of the things we loved most. I (Daniela) liked him so much more than Jem. Even though he was mean in the first book, when he had his moments of sweetness… Oh my, how sweet they were. He’s romantic and sweet and tough and determined. He’ll do whatever he needs to do to make the ones he loves happy. Even if it means not fighting for the girl he loves. At the end of the third book I loved him. We still do.

Will Herondale

“We live and breathe words… It was books that made me feel that perhaps I was not completely alone. They could be honest with me, and I with them. Reading your words, what you wrote, how you were lonely sometimes and afraid, but always brave; the way you saw the world, its colors and textures and sounds, I felt–I felt the way you thought, hoped, felt, dreamt. I felt I was dreaming and thinking and feeling with you. I dreamed what you dreamed, wanted what you wanted…and then I realized that truly I just wanted you.”

“You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first dream of my soul, and from that dream I hope will come all other dreams, a lifetime’s worth.”

“Demon pox, oh demon pox
Just ho is it acquired?
One must go down to the bad part of town
Until one is very tired.
Demon pox, oh, demon pox
I had it all along-
No, not the demon pox, you foolish blocks,
I mean this very song-
For I was right, and you were wrong.”
