Why aren’t our posts being seen on Facebook?

1

Well, I’m not an expert on the subject but I do work in the area. I’m a social media manager, so I kind of know the reason our posts on Facebook aren’t being seen by the people who follow us.

This is a subject actually pretty annoying for me as a blogger, but I understand it from the point of view of someone who works with social media. The thing is, Facebook is a business, you may not think of it like that, because you see it from an user’s eyes, but at the end of the day Facebook is, as McDonald’s is, a business.

First of all, there’s the “organic reach” concept. What’s that? Well, that refers to the total number of people who saw your post at some point or another and it is about to be as dead as a rock. I don’t know when, but it will come a time when all the posts from a fan page on Facebook will have to get a little money to be shown to people or, get a certain amount of likes to make it viral organically and from what I understood, that will be decided by the Facebook people. (If you want to read a bit more about this, you can click here)

So, why aren’t our posts being seen?

Because Facebook is looking for money. Every fan page is meant for a business, it doesn’t matter if you’re big or small, their believe is that, if you have a business and you want to promote yourself on Facebook, you need to pay for it. If you can’t, then you shouldn’t have a business at all. I don’t actually know how it works or will work with blog pages, since we’re not actually a business, we don’t get any money from posting the things we post, but I guess Facebook sees it that way or won’t make any exceptions.

I’m posting this because I’ve seen a lot of posts from other blogs, in which they all are pretty annoyed by this. I am too, trust me. It’s not fair because come onnnnn, this is a hobby to most of us. We do this for fun, to entertain ourselves and any other who enjoys books, music, whatever your blog is about.

But yeah, this is happening and sadly, there’s not much we can do about it. I wanted to post this because I just wanted to let you guys know why this was happening with your posts. I guess, we can keep doing everything we’ve been doing so far and hope our followers help us spread our posts 🙂

That is all. I hope you all find this post useful. Share it and let other bloggers know the reason of their frustration towards Facebook.
