author’s corner – do you know Lori L. Otto?

We wanted to create a space where we could talk a little about the authors we love and here it is 🙂

Each of us have our own list of favorite books and authors. They’ve given us so much with their stories and their characters, it feels like they’ve changed our lives. And maybe, in some degree, they have. Some stories are so full of truth and reality and so many emotions, sometimes you don’t know what to do with yourself. You want to keep reading but, at the same time, you don’t, because at some point it would mean the end of an awesome book.

A while ago, we started reading a perfectly beautiful series. We fell in love with the characters (one particularly more than the others), we cried until our eyes were completely swollen and then some more, and we smiled until our cheeks hurt. Yes, we’re talking about the Emi Lost & Found series by the incredible:

About Lori:

After graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Lori Otto worked in the billboard industry for ten years. Frustrated with trying to communicate entire messages in “seven seconds or less,” she decided to leave outdoor advertising and return to her love of creative writing.

Her work:

Lori Otto worked for years in the advertisement industry but in 2009, after spending months and months of writing, she entered one chapter of her novel in progress as a short story in the 78th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition, where she was awarded Honorable Mention in the Mainstream/Literary Short Story category.

In 2010, she finished the three novel series, which included Lost & Found, Time Stands Still and Never Look Back, which were published in the spring of 2011 and a year later, she got published again with her first novella Not Today, But Someday, which is the prequel to the Emi Lost & Found series.

In 2012, Lori published her first YA novel, the first book of the Choisie series, called Contessa. Hopefully, the second book of the series, Olivia, will be release this year 🙂 **yay, Lorii!**, which we know will be a complete hit. (Can’t wait to read it!)

Connect with Lori:

Well, let us tell you a little bit of our experience with the books and the author.

So far, we’ve only read the Emi Lost & Found series, and like we said in our reviews and every other time we’ve shared anything Lori related… WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, there are no words to actually describe how much. The books themselves gave us the opportunity to experience something unbelievable, amazing, beautiful, sad, happy, perfect. So we’ve been trying to get the word around and let people know of what they’re missing, so they won’t miss it anymore. This is a MUST-READ kind of book. If you haven’t read it, you haven’t met the passionate, artistic and wishful side of love that Nate brings; or the intense, loyal and reliable side of love that is all Jack.

This will bring tears and smiles to your face without a doubt.

This is an everyone-should-know-and-read-her-books kind of author!
