Ok, so, yesterday when I finished If I Stay, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Where She Went, so today I went and bought myself my own copy. I wanted to know what was going to happen next in Mia’s life, although I knew this books was from Adam’s perspective.
So, at first I had my doubts on If I Stay, I didn’t know if it was my kind of book, but it got my attention, fast. I thought this book (If I Stay), somehow, was real, it was so full of emotions, feelings, that were so pure, you could only think this story had to had some truth in it, and as I got to the last pages, I had my answer. Really, it was such an amazing book.
This second book, (I’m so glad the store had it), I felt it more like a story, like the stories I’m used to read. I don’t mean this in a bad way, I loved the book, seriously. Gayle Forman has an amazing way to put the story together, that its practically impossible to stop reading. To me, she described every situation, every feeling, every memory, in a way that allowed me to experience that moment as if it were actually real -thank God it’s not-. So, in this book you get to see the world through Adam’s eyes, so full of anger, disappointment, frustration and sadness, that he doesn’t understand what went wrong. Except that deep inside him, he does understand, but his anger does not let him see it. You would think that, with what Mia did, Adam would hate her, and that would make you hate her. But, I didn’t think he did, well, obviously he didn’t, but I mean at first, with all that frustration an anger he felt, you could see that all that came from confusion, and the moment he sees the truth, when he finally accepts the truth as it is, he feels free -thanks Statue Of Liberty ;)-. And I have to say, I didn’t hate Mia at all, it was a very hard thing to do.
